The pie charts compare the electricity produced in five different sources in New Zealand and Germany between 1980 and 2010.

It is clear that the most common source of electricity in New Zealand and Germany was coal and nuclear power respectively. Nuclear Power was never used in New Zealand to generate electricity in the period given.

In 1980, a total of 127 units was used to generate electricity in New Zealand, whereas Germany was 20 units less. In New Zealand, almost half of the electricity was created through coals, while the figures for hydro and natural gas accounted for 30 units each. As compared to Germany, the electricity was generated most through coal and natural gas with 28 units each.

By 2010, the total electricity produced by different sources was doubled for both country. A significant increase of almost 100 units was produced by coal in New Zealand and over 150 units by nuclear in Germany, the main sources of electricity for both. There was a decline in the power produced by petroleum and natural gas in two countries in the year provided, the least sources of power.
