essay 2

Post by robin20y »

Nowadays for many people the internet is replacing regular books. What do you think will happen in the future and what is your opinion about this trend?

Twenty first century has witnessed rapid developments in the realm of information technology. As a result, electronic version of books became more common in these days. To my mind this trend is something powerful enough to replace printed media entirely in the future. This view can be supported by analyzing how important is digital gadgets for mankind to save space and also by finding the ease of access to digital publications.

Firstly, space is something important and difficult to get in this modern time and electronic gadgets can help people to minimize the use of physical space for book keeping. For instance, consider smart phones; these devices are so handy and also designed to work as a digital library. Therefore, one can carry thousands of books in a single device wherever he or she goes. That compactness offered by these digital devices is changing the mind of people to go digital over physical books. So, in future, printed media would die out eventually.

Secondly, there is only little effort to buy electronic copies of the book compared to printed one. For example, credit card based online transactions for e-books do not necessitate a visit to the book stall to buy books. Apart from that, once the payment is done the book will be downloaded to the computer or phone instantly. Thus, digital copy of books is more convenient to modern people who consider time as precious. This also points the possibility for a paperless publication in future.

To conclude, by saving the need of space and time e-books have a huge popularity. Of course that popularity is growing at great pace. This makes clear why it is argued that physical books will not be in use in future.
