Post by aaa123 »

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Write about the following topic:
A company has announced that it wishes to build a large factory near your community.

Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this new influence on your community. Do you support or oppose the factory? Explain your position.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Write at least 250 words.
Answer:
Nowadays, new factories are built and put into operation more than ever before. It is undeniable that introducing more production lines will greatly influence the national economy, as well as the society. However, building these factories inside the city premises has both positive and negative effects on the people living near to them.
To begin with, having new production facilities will always enhance the economy and, as a result, will indirectly lead to a rise in the average individual income. Moreover, many job opportunities will be created, which can strongly hit the unemployment problem that the community suffers. What is more, that having such new facilities within the city perimeter can provide low cost transportation for the employees and be at their convenience as they do not have to change their homes to live near to their workplace.
However, on the other hand, many problems will rise. First of all, pollution, which can be seen in forms of air pollution as well as noise. We all know how it look when having an industrial building near to our homes. For example, an unavoidable consequence that you will more likely find trucks running all the day and night in your street, which may cause inconvenience to the neighbors and an increase in the possibilities of having a major traffic accidents. And on top of that, this kind of structures will occupy the limited city land, which would be more appropriate using it for facilities that enhance the standard of living for the people, such as parks, sports facilities and libraries.
In conclusion, building an industrial factory may be suggested to have beneficial effects on the society in terms of economy, job opportunities and more convenient conditions to the workers. Although, it is clearly seen that the drawbacks will strongly outweigh them, from environmental pollution to endangering people's health and up to threatening their lives through traffic accidents.
