Modern technology is now very common in most workplaces.
How do you think this changed the way we work?
Do you think there are disadvantages to relying too much on technology?

Use of modern technology is most common in workplaces. Whether you take preparing a cup of tea or coffee, or taking a print of office documents and scheduling audio or video meeting with people from other nation or continent. I believe that the work efficiency has been increased tremendously with the support of new technology, at the same time we cannot omit the stress on the company and employee productivity due to over dependency on new technology.

In my opinion, the contemporary technology made our life lot easier than ever before, for example, in office, it use to take days to send the approved invoice copies to customer but now with the use of technology such as enterprise software customer can access the invoice document as soon as it approved by his vendor from mobile without having to wait for days to receive the post. Also, the employees are given the laptop and smart phones with internet connectivity which helps them to work from home instead of going to office thus saving their travel time to office and hence increased the efficiency of the work.

On the other hand, the detrimental effect of using contemporary technology on company as well as on staff cannot be ignored, for instance, with the use of advanced technology such as video or audio conference systems, we are completely depending on the satellite for communication, this may hinder the company performance when the satellite is down. Also, workers are given the latest technology gadgets and force them to work from home, even during their holidays, there by pressurizing their employees and eating their personal time too.

To sum up, everything has two sides, new technology is not an exception. Certainly it has changed the way we work and interact with customers at the same time over dependency is stressing the company performance as well as its employees productivity.
