The bar charts represent the population of men and women pursuing education in Britain in three periods. The charts are further classified into full time and part time study.
Between 1970 and 1971, the number of male students were higher by 300 people for full time education and 50 for part time education study as compared to female students. However, this trend did not last long as more and more women were seen to pursue further study in the 1980 and 1981. This fact is further supported where there was an overall gradual increase of 200 women registering in the education during the period.
Despite being outnumbered by the females, the proportion of male students were stable in 1980 and 1990. Women, on the other hand, had a dramatic rise in the 1990, where it exceeded the male students by 200 people under full time lecture. Meanwhile, part time study for female students remained stagnant in the same year.
Overall, the chart pattern for women education pursuers showed an increase trend whereas the male students had a fluctuate pattern.
