The three pie charts give information the changes in annual spending by a specific UK school in 1981, 1991 and 2001.
In 1981, the two biggest expenditures were teachers' and other workers' salaries (40% and 28% respectively). Second came resources like books and furniture equipment (15% each). The least amount of money was spent on insurance (2%) and the trend continued in every other period.
Similarly, in 1991, teachers' and other people's salaries stayed at the top, while the money spent on resources rose with 5% and furniture and equipment fell down to 5%.
However, in 2001, the other workers' salaries decreased and were overtaken by furniture and equipment which then stood just below the teachers' salaries. Also, resources declined, too, to 9% just above the insurance expenditure.
Overall, teachers' salaries managed to stay the biggest spending, while the other costs fluctuated over the years with the exception of insurance which was always at the bottom.
