The bar chart compares the worldwide sales of games software, CDs and DVDs over a period of 4 years.
In 2000, CDs dominated the IT industry by achieving 35 billion of global sales. The global sales figure was doubled as compared to DVDs and games software at 18 billion and 13 billion respectively. Despite at its peak, the sales trend for CDs then subsequently decreased slightly during the 4 years period, where its demand dropped to approximately 32 billion in 2003.
In contrast, demand for DVDs is lesser as compared to CDs. In fact, it only managed to obtain global sales of 18 billion in year 2000. Despite being the runner up in the category, the sales trend for DVDs seemed positive, where the year-to-year sales figures were increasing sharply to 31 billion at the end of the period. This proved to be a drastic sales growth for DVDs as it reduced the sales gap against its core competitor.
Finally, games software had seen a considerably growth in its global sales. Although its popularity was not as high as CDs and DVDs, it managed to reach its sales peak at slightly below 20% in year 2003.
In conclusion, the global sales for CDs reduced whereas the sales for DVDs improved steadily from year 2000 to 2003

In 2000, CDs dominated the IT industry, making 35 billion dollars in global sales. The global sales figure was double DVD sales of 18 billion dollars, and triple games software sales of 13 billion dollars. Despite at its peak, the sales trend for CDs then subsequently decreased slightly during the 4 years period, where its demand dropped to approximately 32 billion in 2003.(<--Reword to: "However, sales steadily decreased over the next three years to 32 billion dollars in 2003.")
In contrast, demand for DVDs grew from 2000 to 2003. In fact, it only managed to obtain global sales of 18 billion in year 2000.(<--I do not understand this sentence.) Despite being the runner up in the category, the sales trend for DVDs seemed positive, where the year-to-year sales figures were increasing sharply to 31 billion at the end of the period.(<--Reword to: "By 2003, DVD sales made 31 billion dollars globally.") This proved to be a drastic sales growth for DVDs as it reduced the sales gap against its core competitor.
Finally, games software had seen a considerable growth in its global sales. Although its popularity was not as high as CDs and DVDs, it managed to reach its sales peak at slightly below 20 billion dollars in year 2003.
In conclusion, the global sales for CDs dropped, while the sales for DVDs and games software improved steadily from 2000 to 2003.
