Task 1
The tables below give information about sales of Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004 in five European countries.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The tables illustrate the amount of money spent on sales of Fairtrade labelled coffe and bananas in the UK, Switzerland, Denmark, Beligium and Sweden in 1999 and in 2004.

From the given illustration, Switzerland held the first position among the other European countries in 1999, spending 3 million euros for coffee. However, this amount was doubled in 2004 (6 million euros). Denmark is slightly ahead of its closest follower, the UK (1,8 and 1,5 million euros respectively). Additionally, the money spent from the UK skyrocketed in 2004, reaching 20 million euros, while Denmank's spending amount remained quite static (2 million dollars). Belgium and Sweden, showed a slight increase in the amount of money spent for coffee, accounting less than 2 million euros in both periods described in the tables.

As far as the money spent on bananas sales, Switzerland soent the largest amount in 1999 (15 millions), continuing an upward trend, reaching 47 millions in 2004. The UK and Belgium, even they started spending a small amount of money for bananas, (1 and 0,6 million respectively), this showed a considerable increase during the period described in the tables. Sweden and Denmark spent around 2 million euros each for bananas in 1999, while this percentage had a moderate decrease of 1 million euros in 2004.

To conclude, Switzerland spent the larges amount of money for coffee and bananas compared to the countries described in the tables, in both years 1999 and 2004.

Task 2
Some people think that all university students should study whatever they like. Others believe that that should only be allowed to study subjects that will be useful in the future, such as those related to science and technology.

Over the last twenty years the majority of the students completing the final year of the basic education, apply for a university degree. It is believed that students should be freely choose the subject of their preferance to study, while others agree that courses related to science and technology should be the only choice for the students. This issue is very controversial. Personally, I believe that students should study whatever they like. There are a good many reasons for that.

First and foremost, if they pick up the course they want to study, they will be highly motivated for that, by researching extra resources and material besides these offered by their professors. Furthermore, they will enjoy their journey to university by learning skills that will be useful in the future, if they choose to be employed in a relative field.

On the other hand, the emergence of technology and science has brought a wealth of different fields, that provide applicants woth a stable financial future, as there is still the need of employers expertised in the relevant areas. There is an international force towards these fields, undermining the courses relevant to human sciences, such as philosophy, sociology and anthropology.

To conclude, students should make their own choices about the degrees that they want to follow, without being forced to follow something not desirable by them, even though critics agree that at the age of eighteen, students are not mature enough to make choices about their future. They should weight the drawbacks and the advantages of the offered choices and conclude to a degree. Discussions with their parents or even a job-orientation counselling will contribute to make a valiable choice.

Please find attached the table for task 1 ,and give me your comments/suggestions for improvement as i want to score 7 in writing. Furthermore I would like to score my writing. Thank you in advance
