Writing Task 1 - About fish salmon

Post by polina.svr »

The diagrams below show the life cycle of a species of large fish called salmon.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Here are the picture: http://prntscr.com/9fetmg

Given diagram represents the life cycle of salmon, one of the species of big fish. Overall, the pictures encompass the phases from egg to mature fish.
To begin with, salmon eggs are laid in the upper rivers among reeds and small stones. After 5-6 months, eggs became fries of 3-8 cm at length. These little fishes went down by the river, where flow is fast. After that, fish spent approximately 4 years in such conditions and grew into fish that called smolts and have 12-15 cm lengthwise. Afterwards, they flow down by the river again until reached the sea, where salmon spend roughly 5 years of life in this place. Finally, the adult salmon, 70-76 cm at length, returned to the upper rivers and breed there.
To sum up, salmon is a big fish that have long biological cycle, nearly 10 years and live both in the rivers and in the seas. In addition, this species of fish have 3 stages: fry, smolt, and adult salmon.

Hi Polina,
Basically, a good report. You have included all the main points, but a couple of minor points are not mentioned, e.g. stones and reeds.
All the best,
David
