One of your friends recently had a birthday celebration, but you missed it and you forgot to tell your friend that you couldn't attend.
Write a letter to your friends. In your letter:

- Apologise for missing the birthday celebration
- Explain why you missed it and why you didn't tell your friend
- And say what you would like to do to show that you are sorry


Dear John,

It's with huge regret that I write this letter to present my apologies for missing your birthday party.

I'm extremely sorry for having missed your birthday celebration. I know that it was a special night for you and I can't say how much I'm ashamed to miss this special night and occasion to be around you.

I couldn't come to your party because my little sister was extremely sick and I had to drive her to the hospital where I spent 2 days in a row. I couldn't leave her alone and on top of that I've forgotten my mobile phone at home. It wasn't a pleasant moment and hopefully she's feeling much better now.

I would like to catch up with you next week to say sorry for missing your party and to give you your gift. I've bought a special gift for you which I couldn't give you during that night.
Please consider this letter as an invitation to the Indian restaurant which I know you like.

I can't wait to see you next week.

Hello!

Overall, a very good letter. Some grammar mistakes, but they do not create problems with understanding. Sometimes, shorter sentences allow candidates to be more accurate. Good vocabulary and organisation.
