reviwe essay pls

Post by ucheoma »

Online education is becoming more and more popular. Some people claim that e-learning has so many benefits that it will replace face-to-face education soon. Others say that traditional education is irreplaceable.

Discuss both views and give your opinion

Traditionally, learning takes place in the classroom. However, in this age of technological advancement, the internet seems to have taken a toll on the traditional type of teaching and is threatening the existence of teachers in classroom . This have raised concerns among educationist whom argue that very soon teachers will go extinct with advent of electronic learning. This essay will discuss both parts of this argument and come up with a conclusion

To begin with over the years, there have been increased usage of resource from the worldwide web by students to learn various things which they might have learnt by attending lectures. For example, scholars can now listen to most topics of their curriculum on YouTube, video and podcast. Also some universities now organizes some sort of distance learning where undergraduates do not need to appear in the classroom but can have interactive lectures over Skype and even submit their assignments online. In as much as this trend tends to benefit the working class whom might be too busy to appear at an agreed lecture period as well as benefit the student who uses the above mentioned resource to have a pre knowledge of what should have been taught in class, they do come up with some negatives. Firstly, some students might feel they do not need help from pundits anymore thus they tend to shun classes. Secondly, some other students might be tempted to procrastinate studying since these resources are readily available on the internet and lastly others might be easily distracted with a lot of other side attraction that comes with using the computer.

On the contrary, the traditional teaching method where the lecturer is in charge brings some close interaction between him and his students as he tends to find out the students that will need extra lessons to brush up their knowledge. Also, the teaching environment brings close social interaction between students as they can also learn team work, an addendum they need for future working career and finally discipline comes with classroom learning. Students are forced to behave well and also given deadline for most task which helps to shape their future.

To conclude, although the benefits of internet usage among students does exist the advantage of close interaction with teachers, discipline among the students while in the classroom and the social interaction of classroom teaching go a long way to fortify the idea that teachers are very valuable in the classroom

Hello!

The first main paragraph is substantially longer than the second.

Pundits? (= people who offer gambling advice or try to predict the future)

Lecturer = university teacher

Addendum = an extra thing, usually not so important but giving more detail

Overall, the basic points are reasonable. Grammar and vocabulary are generally good. There's quite a lot of 'can' without exploration of different situations.

All the best,
