Some people prefer renting than buying a home. What are the advantages and disadvantages of renting your home?
In recent years, there have been a growing number of people who prefer renting a house or an apartment rather than buying one, especially for those who have recently graduated from universities. The trend could be related to financial capability or personal preference of an individual, and the merits and demerits of renting a home are fiercely debated.
Proponents of renting claim that it provides people with several benefits. First of all, the initial payment of renting a place to live is significantly cheaper than buying one. In Australia, for instance, an individual would only be required to pay the rent of first two weeks and a rental bond before moving into the property, which is generally less than 4,000 dollars. However, buying a property may cost the amount of money which is 100 times more than renting one. Additionally, flexibility is another advantage, as tenants are free to move to another place as soon as the contract is finished. This allows some people, such as job hoppers or those who prefer new environments, to relocate conveniently without worrying about selling their old houses.
On the other hand, opponents purport that renting poses certain limitations. The most obvious one is the lack of tenure security, as it is possible that a landlord might refuse to extend the contract if the tenants wish to continue living in that house, which is not a sound option for retired people who would prefer staying in one place for a long period of time. Moreover, raising the weekly rent of the property is also very common, which apparently could add extra financial burden onto the tenants.
In conclusion, renting a home seems a more realistic and affordable plan for some students who have just graduated while it could raise certain issues for those who want the full control of their own property.

Hello!
Fiercely debated? Really?
Your points are good. There is only a limited range of grammar but accuracy is good. Vocabulary is also good, with some topic-specific items.
Overall, not bad at all!
