Hey all,
I completed my LRW tests yesterday in Bangalore.
The writing task 2 topic was,
Nowadays parents put a lot of pressure on their children to succeed.
What reasons are the parents giving for this?
Does this cause a positive or a negative development in children?
Ryan,
I asked you this in FB also.
If the scores of the individual sections are 6+6+6.5+6.5, then the total would be 25 and 25/4 is 6.25. So what would my band be?
Once again Thank you so much Ryan.
Completed LRW on April 12th in Bangalore

Hi Meetarjuns,
Thank you very much for sharing the experience.
Bands placing at X.25 or X.75 are rounded up. So the overall band in the scenario you've illustrated would be 6.5. (For reference: https://www.ielts.org/researchers/score ... rting.aspx)
However, individual scores within the marking scheme used to produce a band for a candidate's speaking and writing skills are rounded down. So, for example, a student that scores 6, 6, 6.5 and 6.5 for the Task Achievement, Coherence and Cohesion, Lexical Resources and Grammatical Accuracy criteria of their Task 2 writing mark would receive 6.25 and this mark would be rounded down to 6 before weighed against Task 1 performance using a score sheet. (For reference: http://ielts-yasi.englishlab.net/How_th ... Scored.htm and http://ielts-yasi.englishlab.net/GRADING_CRITERIA.htm)
Can you remember any of the listening and reading topics or question types?

Sorry Ryan, I'm not able to recall exactly but both listening and reading topics were not from the many practice tests I did. All seemed new to me weren't very easy.
Thank you for the info and Ryan you call me Arjun. Meetarjuns is my username

I know we had a little exchange on Facebook, but I'm very happy to relive it again here. Big congratulations on the mark. All of your hard work has paid off. Now you can go on with life and not worry about the IELTS ever again. Very happy to hear Canada is your final destination, too!
Thanks for sharing your story and all the best!
Ryan
