Should long-term job-seekers in the receipt of government benefits be made to do voluntary work so that they give something back to the community?

Many people feel that, long-term job seekers in the receipt of government benefits be made to do voluntary work so that they give something back to the community. I completely agree with this idea. This, not only benefits the society but also adds up a better profile to the job-seeker itself.

Firstly, if job-seekers manage to be at home by getting benefits from the government, they will become more lethargic and in mere future they will become dispassionate in finding the job for which they are eligible. This also makes them feel depressed, sometimes feel guilty for getting free benefits and sometimes become irresponsible not only towards their community but also to their own family. So, it’s is important to any individual to take responsibility and volunteer to the organization.

Secondly, there might be a future risk, if they do not take the ownership to find a long-term job and depend on government benefits. This will not only affect job-seeker, but also the society with increased taxes.
On the other hand, when job-seekers take a step forward and serve their nation they will be benefited in many ways. As a result, that will drastically boost the job seeker’s confidence, as we all know that, “Practice makes man perfect.” They feel contented for getting benefited from government. This will allow them to improve their experience and increase many skills to their profile, which in turn benefits the job-seeker to be exposed to many opportunities he/she wished to choose.

To conclude, I strongly believe that individual satisfaction is more important than getting benefited because the benefits might fill the person’s short-term purpose for living but that can definitely not be the long-term solution for the problem.
