My Task 2 writing sample

In universities, young women tend to choose arts programs while young
men prefer science. What are the reasons for this trend and do you think
this tendency should be changed?

There have always been a lot of differences between men and women for
centuries. It is not only the appearance of both genders but also when it
comes to how they choose their major or subjects in University. Most
university girls prefer art programs whereas boys often choose science but
why and should they be changed?

For the most part, the reason why boys and girls have different preference
of subjects in university comes to their innate personalities. Girls tend to be
more romantic than boys while art programs are obviously not so tough
and dry as most science subjects. While men have a tendency of enjoying
something that is logical and competitive like maths, physics or chemistry.
In additions, those science programs are sometimes emotionally draining
so with better mental health, boys usually deal with them much more
easily than girls.

This difference has no drawbacks that have it changed. The fact that girls
love art and boys love sciences is totally not harmful to anyone or the
society. They have the right to follow whatever they want and make them
happy and creative work and maybe breakthroughs will just occur when
people are able to do what they are passionate about. Furthermore, even if
the government want to force each gender to do certain things, it is
impossible.

In conclusion, we need to happily accept the difference between boys and
girls as long as they don’t bring any disadvantages to the development of
societies. Both gender should also respect each other preference and
together make positive changes.
