I have an irritating habit of hyphenating my words, sometimes unnecessarily so. Eg., time-table, ticket-office, answer-sheets, etc.
In the listening section, if I wrongly hyphenate a word, will I be penalized?
Academic listening- wrong use of hyphens
Re: Academic listening- wrong use of hyphens
correct spelling is a must in the IELTS test, so the improper placement of the hyphen might affect your overall score. There is no such word as time-table, ticket-office and answer-sheets. Don't complicate the English language. Learn the proper use of hyphens.
