In today’s world, people’s lifestyles are shaped by many factors. Even though, politicians have a certain influence on people’s life, the advancement of technology has greatly overrun this. I believe the up to date information providing capability of internet and the television’s attracting ability of wide range of viewers are responsible for this.

The main reason for larger influence of mass media on people’ lives are its ability for providing latest news as well as sharing people’s opinions. For example, internet provides the real time information about everything happing around the globe. People are now able to access this current news, with a click of computer’s mouse. In addition to this, on line social networking sites such as facebook and twitter are supping spaces for people’s group discussion about an issue ranging from personal matter to even a serious national issue. As a result, people are now expressing their opinion more freely and learning more about what happing in their surroundings. This consequently, forcing them to change their social attitude and molding their lives.

Another important cause is the overwhelming power of the television to attract people from all ages and works of lives. This is evident from the popularity of tv and FM radio to child, young and adult. People like to spent most of their time to watch and listen shows on these media. This continuous exposure of mass media certainly influencing their lives from an early stage of life. Furthermore, now politicians are using television and radio for spreading their political message too. A case in point is talk show and election time debate on politics. These lead the people’s greater dependence on mass media.

In conclusion, my opinion is that the outcome of day-to-day online activities of people and the power of TV’s as a medium of disseminating social news surely playing a much crucial role in people’s daily life styles than politicians. It is safe to tell that mass media will even modulate politician’s views of contacting their public.
