News editors decide what to broadcast on television and what to print in a newspaper. What factors do you think influence their decisions? Do we become used to bad news? Would it be better if more good news was reported?




Media has always been part of our daily lives. For instance, news, a source of information internationally or locally through broadcasting or newspapers which are decided by news editors. There are certain reasons on what they opt to report, either good or bad news. The main factor of their decision is the viewer or reader that receives the news even if its a better or worse report.
First, a good news can bring enthusiastic, satisfying feeling to the audience of the report especially if the section relates to it’s viewer or reader. For example, to those who wasn’t able to witness live the FIFA Worldcup will just rely on the news. Thus, Germany’s victory will be rewarding to it’s viewers who loves sports in Germany, meanwhile, the younger one’s or not a sport lover will just not mind. A certain report will be considerably matter to its audience and , however, a good news which attract viewers basing on their hobbies and on what’s trend will also be a choice for the news editors.
On the other hand, bad news enables audiences to become awarer on what’s updated and, possibly, a tragic event might happen which invites more viewers and readers to keep on track with their news. Take a storm, for example, which might visit in your hometown, an information as such may help everybody prepare for an inevitable event. Audiences are already used to bad news, nevertheless, it may be heartbreaking but it does sustain information which allows more viewers to keep on track. Further, news have been delivering bad news everyday which provide outdated outputs.
In conclusion, Either bad or good news, if it makes sense to the audience then more people will be interested to watch or read on it. In addition, Audience is a big factor for such news, a higher rating makes it effective. Eventually, bad and good news will, still, be included in our daily lives.
