Hi Ryan and fellow members
I would like to get a clarification on the marking criteria used by examiners IELTS Writing task 2 (as some of mine friends who attended IDP IELTS masterclass informed me)
Marking is based on 4 descriptors (out of which task response is the most important) and is the first one assigned by examiner to an essay.. The essay is then checked on other 3 descriptors for marking
Also once an examiner assigns a band say 7 in task response,for other 3 descriptors the bands assigned by examiner can be equal to or less than 7 only...
This way, an essay with a vey good vocabulary / grammar with medium task response can NEVER score good. and also the other 3 descriptors are also in way dependent on the task response
Please clarify/advise on this
