The earth is being filled with waste material such as plastic bags and other rubbish. Is this really happening? What are some solutions to this problem?
**********************

One of the biggest challenges the entire universe is facing today is to deal with the waste management. However, various factors like improper segregation of the garbage, using of more plastic bags are contributing to it.

With the increased use of the plastic bags, it is a big threat to the environment. It is very difficult to recycle them. Even sometimes they are being eaten by street animals which are a big health hazard for them and people staying around those areas can’t breathe fresh air. People dump the garbage anywhere and sometimes they burn it which eventually emits the gas which is harmful for the human life. This could even lead to many disabilities in children since birth. For instance, Bangalore has witnessed lot of agitation by the local village people against dumping of the garbage in the surrounding which has impacted them severely.

On the other side, there are various solutions which one can practice. First of all the being a responsible citizen we should segregate the garbage at the source in dry and wet waste. Effective management of the waste will help in recycle it properly which could be used as manure. Government should ban the usage of the plastic bags especially in the retail sector. For instance, Karnataka government has strictly banned the usage of the plastic and imposing fines effective from 1st February 2016 as per published in TOI newspaper. A standard can be regulated while doing the production of the plastic bags which can help in controlling this situation holistically.

To conclude, waste management can’t be handled alone by the higher authorities. However, it has to be a collective responsibility by everyone to make a place to livable rather than a making it filthier by dumping garbage.

One of the biggest challenges the world is facing today is how to deal with waste management. However, various factors like improper segregation of garbage and the use of more plastic bags are only contributing to the issue.

With the increased use of plastic bags, it is a big threat to the environment.(<--Reword to: "The increased use of plastic bags is a serious threat to the environment.") It is very difficult to recycle them. The bags are being eaten by street animals, which is a big health hazard for them and people staying around those areas can’t breathe fresh air.(<--I don't understand what you mean here.) People dump garbage anywhere and sometimes they burn it which eventually emits gas which is harmful for human life. This can even lead to many birth defects. For instance, Bangalore has witnessed protests by the local village people against dumping of garbage in the area which has impacted them severely.

On the other hand, there are various solutions to this issue. First of all, the public should be encouraged to separate garbage at the source into dry and wet waste. Effective management of the waste will make it easier to recycle and reuse it. The government should ban the usage of plastic bags, especially in the retail sector. For instance, the Karnataka government has strictly banned the usage of plastic, and has begun imposing fines effective from 1st February 2016 as published in TOI newspaper. A standard can be regulated while doing the production of the plastic bags which can help in controlling this situation holistically.(<--I don't understand this sentence.)

To conclude, waste management can’t be handled alone by the higher authorities. It has to be a collective responsibility by everyone to make the world livable rather than making it filthier by dumping garbage.
