Nowadays, higher number of students decide to join universities every year. Among the wide range of subjects and faculties, some people think that we should allow students ti study only so-called useful subjects. However, other people argue that students should study whatever they like. Actually, each part has his own perspectives and reasons.
To begin, it is certainly true that students have the ability to be far more creative and cleverer in the field that they like than the field that they are forced to study. That is clearly, because they will be more willing to allocate the most of their time to study and to improve their skills in this field. Furthermore, if students had the chance to study what they like even if the vast majority of the people are not convinced of the benefit of that subject, we can benefit from their energy and their fresh minds to create new ideas that will benefit our society. For example, the fields of music and arts are not related to science and technology, they are important to symbolize the greatness of any nation.
On the other hand, we cannot deny that those who have the most developed and advanced science and technology will own the future. Hence, if students study these fields, they will serve their nation and build its future. For example, modern sciences such as space and energy need more students and expertise because they are among the keys of the future of the world. Moreover, the university should be an institution that provide what the country needs in each field, so the country should allow students to study only the useful fields.
To conclude I believe that students should be allowed to study whatever they want because it is true that they will be able more creative if they study what they like. Actually, I think that societies should support students to choose their future by themselves.
