Given is a bar chart illustrating the metro system as well as commuters in six different European countries namely Paris,Stockholm,Lisbon,Rome,Spain and Berlin for six different years
Overall it is clear that, the distance covered reduced in a linear pattern and also Lisbon had the highest number of passengers in the study years
To begin with,Paris recorded the highest amount of distance covered in 1863 with an amount of 394km. In,1900,this figure dramatically reduced for Stockholm, about 195km less than that recorded for the French capital.1927 saw Lisbon record 155km while Rome had 126km covered. This amount nosedived in 1981 for Madrid which recorded only a mere 11km and is the lowest of all the countries measured in the the study . similarly,Berlin recorded a small amount than Madrid, numbering at 28km in 2001
1863 saw the number of passengers for Paris at 775 million with a remarkable increase of 1191 million for Stockholm in 1990. However this figure peaked to 1927 million in Lisbon for the year 1927.This amount plummeted in 1976 to 144 million for the Italians and even fell further to 45 million in 1981 in Spain. It recovered by only 5 million for Berlin in 2001
