Around the world, children learn English Language as a second language in school, However ,in some places, they also learn at kindergarten(preschool care, when children are aged two to five years.

Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of learning language at kindergarten

The issue about Language learning has always been hitting the headlines in the past. Some Educationist has insisted that children should be taught a new language at an early age while others differ on this view. This essay will discuss the positive and negatives the above view.

On one hand, the plus points about teaching young children language at an early age is that the child tends to inculcate this attitude of learning early in his development. He learns this skill alongside with other innate skills in him and then grows up with it. For example, teaching English language early in life helps a child to learn the basics of the language which he will develop alongside other things like common behavior like greeting as well as taking care of himself. Also the child brain is akin to a new computer. He grabs the skill earlier and easier when he is taught this at a younger age when he has nothing to occupy his mindset. This skills also appears to be inherent in him as he won’t forget it since it was taught when he was at a much younger age

On the other hand, opponents of early language learning believe that young children have some important task in front of them than learning a new language. They are of the view that there are basic things to learn like simple arithmetic to equip them for their educational career. Thus, they should focus more on acquiring the basic skill they need than learning a language. Some other tutors are of the opinion that learning a language can be another work load for young children as their brain has not adapted yet to the stress of having more study load.

Looking at both sides it seems to me that teaching language at an early language has more benefits as the child is made to learn and speak the new language like her mother tongue and also the skills acquired early in life will forever be impacted in a young child. It is recommended by most educationist that language learning should be taught before the age of 5 years

Hello!

He learns this skill alongside with other innate skills in him - explain, please.

when he has nothing to occupy his mindset - explain, please.

This skills also appears to be inherent in him as he won’t forget it since it was taught when he was at a much younger age - Is that really true for all people in all situations?

I'm sure that most children can easily learn a language and maths at the same time.

Basic skill - what do you mean exactly?

educationistS - there are more than one!

Overall, vocabulary is quite good, but not used to present a good argument. There is too much generalisation and even lack of clarity (see above). Grammar is good, but there is a lack of range of structures, especially as you tend to place all children into one group. What about kids living in foreign countries or in multilingual societies, for example?

Organisation is good and I like your introduction and conclusion.

All the best,
David
