Physical Education as an Important Educational Program for Student’s Growth and Development
Physical education is one of the most essential components in a child’s education. Education does not have to be fully academic but instead, should correspondingly involve physical activities as well. Some people believed that physical education has to be considered as optional in the student’s curriculum but it appears to me that this must be taken into consideration as a requirement. This is because that through physical education, physical and mental health of the students can be well developed.
By way of physical education, the student’s physical growth and development are progressed and enhanced. It helps strengthen body’s musculoskeletal system as well as it promotes body coordination and balance. Furthermore, through this, student’s health is not compromised, in view of the fact that being active physically improves body circulation throughout the body systems, thus cardiovascular, central nervous system and other body system’s disorders are minimized if not completely prevented.
In addition, it has been proven that physical education offers enormous benefits to the student’s mental well-being. In spite of the academic pressures students undergo in school, they may divert themselves through involvement in sports, dancing and some other physical activities involved in this field that could alleviate their stress to some extent. Moreover, physical activities, basically promote student’s interpersonal skills. By means of this, students could be able to understand, learn and develop the essence of teamwork, cooperation and sportsmanship.
On the other hand, though this subject offers heaps of benefits to the students, limitations are still very crucial. Sometimes, the students may have the possibilities to dwell most of their time doing these physical activities, thus academically their progress is affected. Even though that this is very essential part to a child’s growth and development as a student, the teachers together with the parents should have to properly introduce its importance with regulations.
As a conclusion, physical education is very essential. Since, it plays a crucial role in the student’s growth and development physically and mentally. Indeed, learning in school are not all about academics but rather with the involvement of physical education too.
