Some people believe that unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of high school programmes (for example, working for a charity, improving the neighborhood or teaching sports to younger children).
To what extent do you agree or disagree?"

Nowadays, Community service has become an integral part of our society. People believe that it should be mandatory to have the awareness spread among the children too. However, some people criticize this .Below is the gist which talks about both the aspects.
Children are considered to be future of the society. It will be beneficial for them to participate in the community service by making it as a mandate in the education process. For e.g. Developing countries like India where population is too high and providing an education to the children’s in the rural area is a bigger challenge. Children can participate through various NGO’s and help them by providing their used books or sharing their knowledge during their break would help others. This will develop a habit of sharing by imparting their knowledge with others and learn the importance of the being in the society. This will even boost their confidence level also.
On the other side, this may bring few challenges also by making it as a part of curriculum. Some students may not learn much out of the enforced activity due to lack of interest. This may implicitly have impact on their studies too and shouldn’t be able to follow their aspirations. For e.g. a student who is student who would enjoy in music more than anything else wouldn’t be enjoying these services .Even sometimes, the commitment of the students wouldn’t let him to participate due to the various reasons like working part time to earn so that he/she can look after his career or family.
To conclude, I believe community service shouldn’t be made as a mandatory activity in the schools. However, Instead schools should detail the importance of the service and challenges what society is seeing through which will let them to understand how they can contribute in the improvement process. Most importantly, the interest of the individual should be considered before asking them to participate in such services.
