In most countries, MNCs and their products are becoming more and more important. This trend is seriously damaging our quality of life.
Do you agree or disagree?
***************************
Global market has evolved over the period of time. With the increased competition, customer has been presented with a wide range of options for a product. However, some people think that this is implicitly impacting the quality of life. This essay will discuss both viewpoints before coming to a reasoned conclusion.
Multinational companies have established their footprints in lot of countries depending on the product demand. However, this has helped the creating lot of job opportunities by offering good perks to the employees. Thus, reducing the unemployment to a certain extent and has even substantially improved the standard of the living of the people. These products provided by these companies are of high quality and built on the latest technology. For instance, Smart TV's are being introduced by various MNC's. Products manufactured by these companies are more reliable as they undergo through various regulations and research before they introduce it to the market.
On the other side of the argument, one of the biggest threat is generated money from a country would be flown outside of the country. Secondly, MNC's will endorse the local celebrities for advertising their products in order to lure the customer. For instance, a Pepsi brand is being endorsed by various bollywood stars in India so that it can be easily reachable to the countrymen even though drinking it can have side-effects to an individual's health. Thirdly, they are not so cost friendly as it adds up to the various costs like import taxes. Lastly, the dependency on these products has been increased over the time due to the unavailability of the indigenous products.
To conclude, I believe one has to judiciously decide before falling into this trap of depending on the foreign brands. However, one should always support the local products and should be encouraged so that it will help in developing the local economy.
