The graph below shows the demand for electricity in England during typical days in winter and summer. The pie chart shows how electricity is used in an average English home.
The first chart illustrates the consumption of electricity in England during winter and summer. The pie chart highlights information about different uses of this electricity in an average English household.
It is clear that demand for electricity in England during the cold season was considerably higher than in warmer season. It is also noticeable that the huge amount of electricity is used for heating rooms and water.
In winter, the consumption of electricity fluctuated significantly around 45000 between 0.00 and 14.00 and peaked at 45000 after 21.00.In contrast figures for summer was marginally low at nearly under 20000.Typical daily demand for electricity in winter between 12.00 and 15.00 was twice bigger than in summer at precisely 40000 and 20000 respectively.
Over a half size of electricity was used for heating house, while one-third of this figure was orientated to ovens, kettles and washing machines. The majority of people used electricity for other purposes such as lighting a house, using TV, radio and cleaning a vacuum. The amount of energy was used for last purposes was exactly equal.
