Isn't it quite complicated T1 sample?

Post by Shokir »

The provided graphs represent data on how much money spent for fast food per weekly in Britain and how was the consumption of them between 1970 and 1990. What is noticeable here is that hamburgers were quite chic among British people.
Starting with fish and chips, for which both people with high incomes and low incomes spent equally 17 pence each, their consumption saw a moderate decrease falling from 300 grammes in 1970 to just over 200 grammes in 1990. However people with average incomes paid more (25 pence) than other groups.
As about hamburgers, whose consumption increased stably over the period from 100 grammes (1970) to over 500 grammes (1990), every individual of high income group paid more than 40 pence for them. Average and low income groups, by contrast, spent less money by paying approximately 33 and 15 pence respectively.
Looking at the details, as regards pizza people with average salaries paid twice as less money as people with high incomes 20 and just over 10 pence respectively. The least money spent for pizza was by people with low incomes who paid well over 5 pence. Moreover, its consumption leveled out at about 50 grammes by 1980 and then rose to 290 grammes in 1990.

Hello!

Ah, I think you have taken the complicated route with this task.

The easy way to do it is to describe the bar chart and the line chart separately, then add a summary with the main points from the two combined.

It is possible to do it the way you have, but the reader will be constantly jumping from chart to chart.

Your report is not bad. you have included all the main points, though you have failed to include a summary.

There are some strange phrases - 'well over 5 pence', 'spent less money by paying'.

All the best,
David

Hello David!
Thank you for checking my sample. Some of ielts instructors told me that there is no need to write summarizing phrases in writing T1 as overview at the top accounts for this. However others, whom i considered to be wrong, claim summary is crucial and must be paragraph. I got a little bit confused after your words. Please quote abuot it some accurate information so that i will be able to figure out the best approach for myself.
