WRITING TASK 2 You should spend about 40 minutes on this task. Present a written argument or case to an educated reader with no specialist knowledge of the following topic.
Should wealthy nations be required to share their wealth among poorer nations by providing such things as food and education? Or is it the responsibility of the governments of poorer nations to look after their citizens themselves?
You should write at least 250 words. Use your own ideas, knowledge and experience and support your arguments with examples and with relevant evidence.
In such difficult period where (( should I replace it with when?) economic crisis is not willing to withdraw as our time, rich countries are becoming as richer as poor countries getting poorer. However, this disparity could be somehow reduced by assistance of richer ones to poorer ones. In this essay I will write detailed view of this topic.
On one hand, aiding economically disadvantaged country has numerously a lot advantages. One of them could be acquiring a friend who will also support you in hard times. Admittedly, this aid would be in the form of foods and education. Though, not every wealthy country wants to risk its economy by donating its wealth. Take USA as an example who provides equally the same conditions for developing countries’ students as its citizens. Or various student exchanging programs of developed countries can also be an instance of sharing their educational prosperities.
On the other hand, there is no doubt that governments are always in charge for their nations. There might be some cases when it is inevitable to move forward without a help of other country. But that does not mean for politics to abuse their duties. To my mind, awaiting assistance from other nations without an endeavor of self-developing intentions could be perpetuating one’s dependence on others. Though, authorities of poorer nations first of all ought to consider ways of overcoming the crisis on their own, if it is impossible then ask for others aid.
Moreover, throwing out a food which is quite edible rather than giving it to somebody dying from a hunger would be a dreadful mistake in terms of humanity. It costs nothing for wealthy nations but for poor ones it may cost a life. What is worst here is the irony of fate in which people are dying from malnutrition while others suffering from obesity. In these cases, richer nations should be required to share their food with those who are vastly fortuneless.
Taken as a whole, people of impoverished nations must contend against poverty on their own. They must also understand that nobody has to help them but themselves. Nonetheless, sharing things like education and food which do not afflict wellbeing of the donator - at least modest example of generosity and humanity.
