The first chart illustrates reasons why people study, and second chart highlights the level of support given by their employer in different age groups.
It can be clearly seen that most people are keen to study in order to build a career. This changes in the older age groups to a desire to study for interest. It is also noticeable that employer support is highest for those who are under the age of 26. (<-- can you suggest a reason for this? Such as, the employer is likely to benefit from the study as well?)
Looking at the charts in more detail, 80% of students under 26 study to build their career. This figure declines as they grow older, falling to 70% for people aged 26-29, 40% for people aged 40-49, and dropping to around 20% for those over 49. Conversely, study for interest begins at just under 10% for those under 26, then increases,reaching the dramatic level of 70% for people over 49.
If we look at second chart, it can be easily observed that employer support is highest for under 26 year olds, with 65%, decreasing to 33% for 30-39 year olds, then increasing slightly to 40% for employees over 49.
