Some people say it is okay to use animals for our benefit, others say it is not good to exploit them. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Animals have always been an integral part of human lives since the beginning of human race. Taking help from animals is one thing but exploiting them is another. Although, many would argue that using animals for the human needs is a fair task, I strongly believe that it is inhuman to exploit them. This essay will discuss both views.
To begin with, there is no doubt about the fact that animals are extremely necessary for even day-to-day activities of mankind. It has been an ongoing trend for farmers to use animals for farming purposes. To take an example, cows and bullocks are used for ploughing the land. Secondly, animals are also used for acquiring animal skin to make leather and fur, the reason being, it wards off cold and provides warmth to the humans. Next, animals play a significant role in the research and experiments done for the medical and cosmetic purposes. For instance, rats and monkeys, are the species, that show most similarities with the humans and hence they prove to be the best specimens to the laboratories for the experimentation and development of probably a newly invented drug to a deadly disease or a cosmetic product. One more instance would be, the way dogs prove to be a boon to crime investigations owing to their intelligence.
On the other hand, however, in the attempt to safe-guard and benefit the human race, it is often forgotten that the animals also possess similar feelings of loss and dismay. In other words, when being used in the farms the animals are made to work hard and beyond their limits but are not take care of equally. Looking at another point, when the animals are warded-off their skills their are left open to attracting a lot of infections or worst yet; this skin is not obtained from dead animals alone, rather, the poor animals are assaulted too and this is merely for the comforts of the mankind. Yet another case of animal exploitation is when tests and experiments are conducted on them; little care is taken of their loss.
To conclude, it is of much importance to mention that animals are essential in easing the human life and they are very much required but, on the other end, they are equally a responsibility of the human race that they should fulfill responsibly. Hence, mankind must learn to treat them with love and care.
