Some reports have discovered the incidence of violence /crimes committed by young women is increasing. Give possible reasons and recommendations to the situation.

It is true that the ever increasing rate at which female teenagers commit crimes is causing more serious problems to our society. There are several factors contributing to this trend and various measures could be implemented by governments and individuals to improve the situation.

The foremost reason for this trend is that young people, especially teenage women, are facing increasingly high pressure from their life. School girls have to compete intensively for places at university with their male counterparts, while young female employees are striving to become as competent as or even better than male workers. As a result, young women who are generally recognised as more sensitive and sentimental than men are liable to break down when experiencing enormous stress from their study and work, which forces them to employ means such as hurting others or committing crimes to release their pressure. In addition, the abundance of violent content in media and on the Internet also plays a key role in encouraging female juveniles to embark on the criminal road. It is often the case that many young people including female adolescences act unduly because they think imitating the violent behaviours seen in movies and online videos would make them more attractive to others. As seen above, excessive peer pressure and uncontrolled internet are two main causes leading to the increase of young female convicts.

Instilling young women with positive attitudes towards life and having governments censor the Web are keys to reducing crimes committed by young females. Firstly, parents should always pay attention to any sign of psychological unstableness their children depict. Therefore, measures such as letting them talk it out and helping them cope with the difficulties they encounter in their lives could be taken to prevent overstress, which eventually leads to extreme behaviours. Secondly, governments and individuals should take joint responsibility to filter out unhealthy materials available on the Internet and replace these with useful knowledge and methods to lead a healthy life, creating a clean and beneficial cyber environment for children to grow up in. With the combined efforts of social members and authorities, it would be feasible to create a society free of young female delinquents.

In conclusion, it seems to me that encouraging parents to work with their children to overcome life problems their children face, and forcefully regulating the media and the Internet by utilising the gathered power of individuals and governments are effective ways to discourage young women from stepping on the criminal path.
