Few people devote time to hobbies nowadays. Say why you think this is the case and what effect this has on the individual and society in general.
Whilst many people have wide range of hobbies, most people are devoting more time to watch TV or surfing internet or playing video games. I feel that it is always good to have a hobby unless it is not monotonous or slaying your creativity and increasing your stress even more.
First of all, in this day and age, apparently many people have sedentary working lifestyle and during their leisure time they would generally prefer to watch TV or use their mobile. The recent survey stated that, teenagers are spending an average of 6 hours a day on their mobiles and the number goes up even more for adults. As a result, making them feel even more stressed and exhausted all day at work, where there is no scope for creativity and positive work environment. Ultimately, on the long-run, making them more lethargic and prone to many health hazards related to spine and blood pressure.
Secondly, due to this sudden change, there is less scope and advancements in many sectors apart from technological aspects, which is impacting the society in a great deal.
On the other hand, there are people who are really passionate about sports, music, arts and science. This would not only making them active and healthy, physically and mentally but also allowing them to excel in their careers by working proactively who are more likely to be better at creative problem solving and paving the ways to wide range of inventions. Last but not the least, due to their dedication and passion many entrepreneurs have made their careers out of their hobby.
To conclude, I strongly believe that, taking up a creative hobby is a win-win situation for both the individual and for the society as a whole.
