In some cultures, the young are more valued, but in other places, the old are more valued. Discuss both sides and give your own opinion.
In the contemporary society, there are widely differing views on the value of youngsters and senior citizens. While in some places argue that youths are more valued, in many other areas believe that elderly people are more valued. These points of view will be discussed before arriving at a satisfactory outcome.
On the one hand, some people are of the opinion that adolescents are more valued as they can create the future of the society. For instance, young people can frequently learn and acquire new technologies from various fields in order to promote the societal development. It is argued that they are able to give vibrant and color to the community. As this shows that offspring are playing a key role in the society success. Little wonder, then, that they are higher valued.
On the other hand, many people contend that senior citizens are more valued since they had contributed to develop the community. To illustrate, a lot of senior scientists are still spending the whole of their life in conducting some amazing research in order to improve the society. Thus, we should respect them and should not neglect their contribution. It is obvious from this that the society can be successfully developed; we should indeed attribute to the old people and consider them as a higher valuable person.
In conclusion, there are strong arguments on both sides. However, after analyzing these points of view, I personally believe that old people are more valued. Also, I believe that it seems highly advisable for all the citizens to give them certain respect.
