In many countries children are engaged in some kind of paid work. Some people regard this as completely wrong, while others consider it a valuable work experience, which is important for learning and taking responsibility. What is your opinion?
Child labor is one of the most discussed topics in many countries. Especially in the under developed and developing countries, we could find many children working for their daily expenses. Some argue that this will really help them to get a real life experience and could also be an aid for their career. But on the other hand, there are a group of people who believes this to be a waste of time. Considering the type of work and money they earn this age, it is not recommended to go for a job.
Firstly, most of the time children would be paid very low. For example, it may be noted that most of them in this category would be employed for cleaning dishes, mopping floors or serving food which might not bring them a good salary. Moreover, this also do not bring any useful skill required for their career. So it is not recommended for children to work at this age.
Secondly, children may not get enough time for study and could also loose attention in the subjects if they work during this period. For instance, after school hours children might need to revise the subjects at home. But for working children this might be difficult and would not get time for this. It may also result in loosing interest in these subjects and could fail in the exams. So it is obvious that, children should get enough free time and be more engaged in the studies than work.
But on the other hand, working at a younger age will really help them to understand how difficult to earn money and survive in this competitive world. This will make them a more responsible person and understand the feelings of their parents. Eventhough this seems to be true, considering the negative sides mentioned, it is not advisable to send children for work.
So after analyzing both sides of the argument, it is noted that this has more cons than pros. So employing children is not beneficial for their future. In future parents should take this as top most priority and understand that children are the back bones of the nation. This is also applicable for those who employ children at work.
