Travelling solo has became increasingly popular in today's society especially for young people. There are certainly advantages and disadvantages concerning the trend. Solo travellers love the freedom and inexpensive price, while others fear for the safety aspect. Both points will be discussed before a reasoned conclusion is reached.
First and foremost, embarking on a courageous adventure alone means having endless freedom. One is capable of doing everything without any disagreement or disappointment. For instance the freedom to choose where to go or what to eat. Therefore, unnecessary argument over a meal is next to impossible.
Secondly, the cost spent in travelling alone is less expensive. For those who has limited budget will not have to worry about searching for affordable single accommodation. These days cheap accommodation can be spotted at basically every corner. Moreover, there are also package deals available for them like bed and breakfast. Enabling one to save even more.
On the contrary, the drawback of travelling alone can not be overlooked. Safety is one of the main concern because nobody is around to look after them. The many cases of missing backpackers is one example. When something dangerous unexpectedly occurred, it is hard to contact any family members if identification card is misplaced or stolen. This, of course can be resolved by ample and thorough research of the destination place, awareness of dangerous situation and meticulous plan in case of emergency.
Having examined both views, it can be concluded that travelling solo can enriched one's life without having to worry about budget or other's bias point of view. Provided that the journey is carefully planned and researched.
