The graphs compare the various contributions of farm land deterioration and percentage of land degradation by regions in the 1990s. It can be clearly seen that the prime reason of land degradation is over-gazing of farm animal and Europe had the most reduced productive land.
Apart from over-gazing, deforestation was the second causes of land degeneration which was 30%. This followed by over-cultivation of certain crops which was 28%. In addition, other reason was the least cause of land degradation which was only 7%.
Analyzing in term of regions, the least affected region was North America which had only 5% of total degraded land and major of it was due to too much of cultivation which stands about 3.3%. In contrary, Oceania had 13% of total land degradation but none of it was due to over-cultivation. As mentioned Europe being the most affected region had 23% of sum of degraded land and deforestation being the greatest reason.
