Does this mean that BC already grouped Exams according to time zone?
It is different from what I took.

Hi allen,
I think so, they might choose may three topics for writing, and they give so that no one can get time to prepare beforehand.
timezone within 5 hours difference would get same questions, and next 5 hours get different and so on.
Still I am not sure, but I better prepare myself...

Hi Ryan,
Firstly congratulations on the tremendous student base that you have gained. You are like a Holy book as far as IELTS is concerned,so I am here to seek your help.
I have two question on the Writing Task 1 & 2.
BTW I am from India and have attempted the IELTS on 10th May.
Writing Task 1
Would it be wrong if I start the letter as :
To,
The Manager,
XYZ Sports Club.
Dear Sir,
Asking this because they had categorically asked us to start the letter with Dear Sir.
Writing Task 2
Essay:
Number of companies that are selling their products world wide is increasing nowadays.Does this phenomenon have more advantages or disadvantages? Write your view and share your experience.
Will it be wrong if I discuss about foreign trade and its effects.
I mentioned in the essay how companies and especially countries are opening up in terms of business with other countries of the world.
How the world economy has improved with world trade and also developing nations have become self sufficient as they are able to sell their products to developed countries.
Example I quoted was :The rise of developing countries like India and China because of the international trade.
Disadvantage I mentioned was "Illegal immigration on the pretext of trade needs to curbed"
I froze for a good 10 minutes after completing my test thinking that I have messed up the task 2 big time.
I humbly request you to comment whether what I have done is going to impact my scores or is it grammar, flow of the essay and coherence which matters.
Awaiting your reply.

Hey Ryan,
Thanks for the post. I am Sandeep Kumar appearing IELTS exam on this 17th from Mumbai,India.
Just a bit curious, Is there is any chance of these question coming in upcoming exam i.e. 17-May-2014 ?
Also would you mind providing a sample answers for both of the questions? It would be of great help for all the aspirants.
Thanks a lot in advance. Looking forward for your reply.
Regrads,
Sandeep

Sandeep,
IELTS is not a ordinary examination so for sure they wont give the same questions on different test dates! Perhaps re-phrasing the topic/idea but definitely not the same question.
I guess we should use past questions (specially the recent ones) as an opportunity to practice and then post your essay here so other people can comment or add remarks.

Awesome work, Aadyl! Perfect band 9 in speaking? I think it is now your duty to explain in detail
how you did it.
Congratulations!

Thanks Ryan.
I am more than glad to share my IELTS experience.
The first time I took the test,I did well in all except reading, second attempt reading was 8 band and could not score 7 in writing.
The last attempt I was able to score 7 in all.
Since I have been working in Call center/BPO field from the past 10 years, verbal communication has never been my weak point.
For the preparation I did lots of mock tests from
www.ielts-blog.com and followed your You tube videos for reading and writing .
Regards,
Aadyl
