Can we use colon (:) or semicolon (;) in writing task 2

I have a query about use of colon (:) or semicolon (;) in writing task 2. Is it fruitful to use or we should avoid this ?

If you have the knowledge how to use it, why not? But be 100% sure. At th same time, you should avoid over-using it.

I agree with Manoj. Colons and semicolons frame specific ideas well when used appropriately; however, their overuse can make your writing looked forced or even tacky.
