Hi Geo,

I can understand your frustration. Perhaps grammar is what is holding your score back? Have you had your writing assessed by an individual with strong written grammar?

Don't give up hope. Everyone hits their score eventually.

Hello friends ,

I had my speaking test today in Hyderabad .
I was given the following cue card :-

Describe a place away from home
Here is an example of a Part 2 question from an IELTS interview in the UK this month.
Describe a place away from home where you stayed. You should say:

where it was
when (and / or how long) you stayed there
what you did there

and explain how you felt when you left it.

In 1st round I was asked about what do you do on weekends .
In the last round there was a discussion about where would you like to stay , with friends or relatives ?

For both these questions I gave similar answers telling that I prefer friends . We do this together , etc etc .

Will this hold back from getting a good band ?

PS : I have LRW on 19th in India

if you're going to be doing the test soon. It'll be more effective if you focus your efforts on becoming more confident at planning. In this way, you not only improve your Task Achievement and Coherence marks by securing the logic of your response, but possibly also vocabulary marks because you have spent some time thinking about what vocabulary you can use.

Most students with short study time gain greater benefits through this method because grammar is not something that can be fixed in a week.

Thanks jimmy..i will implement your suggestions, this time i have three hours to leave for exam today...and seriously i did have some panic stress and also other family issues.....i couldnt concentrate on studies even though i took my day off for this week..nothing i prepared till this last minute..and still not able to sleep whole night due to stress..now i dont know how i am going to handle the exam without sleep ....i am perhaps hopeless guy in this whole network that i shouldnt give this exam..and i am thinking to step out of this exam...just thinking way of cancelling but no chance...but i checked online ielts.org that given the medical report by practicioner in sydney i can get approved if its seriously affecting the exam and the condition that i cannot sit properly in exam.
