Some people say that the Olympic Games no longer have a role to play in the 21st century. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
A matter of considerable controversy at present is the issue of whether Olympic Games play an essential role for the modern societies or rather it is just the waste of time and money. It is disagreed that these events have no more importance for the 21st century. Both the necessities of Olympic Games to promote younger generation and as well as to maintain peace and harmony among nations will prove this. This essay will illustrate the reasons behind.
Firstly, Olympic Games play pivotal role to encourage younger generations towards sports activities. That is to say, youths these days are inspired by the sportsperson and give more preference to sports activities such as rugby, football and others. As a result youths live healthy lifestyle and maintain their physical fitness. In addition, players are often taken as a role model in a society because of the patriotism they show for the nation by wining or participating in the games. Thus, it is clear that Olympic Games are essential for both the societies and younger people overall development.
Secondly, to maintain sustainable relationship among nations Olympic Games play an important role. This is the world of competitions where nations try to prove themselves as superior and developed than others. In many cases envy causes troubles and war, but by the help of the events people understand each other and solve misunderstanding and maintain peace and harmony. This clearly gives an idea that Olympic Games bring prosperity in relationship among different nations, cultures.
To conclude, Olympic Games benefit both the younger generation and establish close relationship among the countries which is believed to be one of the essential requirements of the 21st century where everyone is busy to fulfil their own necessities.
