Technology is not a new term for any of us. Its expansion in every horizon of life has forced us to change our traditional ways of living life. There still might be a few far flung areas of the world which are backward enough to be using their old ways. Otherwise, technology has colored our lives so much that nobody has time to think about the past methods anymore.
It is human nature to try new things, be curious and look for more every time. When new hi tech machines are introduced into a society, the critics try their best to keep the old ways going as they were. But soon their voice is muffled by the loud noise of technology around them. A part of me agrees with the critics as it is said “old is gold”. We have every all the new modern life we want but leaving back our old traditional ways is changing life for us in a way that we would not understand now.
Taking the example of farming, we have been introduced with so much new technology that the concept of handling crops manually has vanished. This provides us with a refined costly product which is not good for our health. Similarly, the taste of food that we used to savour in old times is not available anymore as grinders and blenders have replaced the traditional pestle and mortar or stone grinders. The typical handi has been replaced by aluminum cooking utensils that are not good for health.
There is of course no use crying over spilt milk. Nothing we do now can change the new practices we have adapted. A change is easier to bring if its modern enough but going back to old ways is quite near to impossible.
Hence, when new technology is changing our lives in a positive way, it is also causing us some hidden losses but the moment we realize that, it would be too late. So, in my opinion it is totally pointless to try to keep the old ways alive. We should work better on how to bring betterment in the changes that have been made already.
