Attending Universities (Please help)

People attend college or university for many different reasons (for example, new experiences, career preparation and increased knowledge). Why do you think people attend college or university? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer


In the twenty first century, attending colleges and universities have become a pivotal part of people’s lives. Some people study to acquire new experiences, while others to maximize knowledge. It is believed that an individual attends university to fortify career preparations. This will be proven by looking at how university certificates have become mandatory requirement at the workplaces and how it acts as an avenue for job opportunities.

Firstly, many people attend universities to obtain certificate which is a compulsory element for jobs obligation. That is to say, nowadays it is almost impossible for an individual to acquire upper level positions without higher degrees certificates, including on hand experience. For example, many professions, particularly Scientists, Lawyers, Technicians and Accountants, are only eligible to apply if they have completed their degrees. In addition attending universities is essential for gaining practical and theoretical knowledge about the subjects which can be used in later stage of life. Thus, it is clear that attending universities have been important for achieving employment opportunities.

Secondly, attending universities broaden the areas of work industries. In today’s societies, finding jobs that interest individual is very hard; however, if the person’s has degree then there is a chance of getting the position. For instance, many employers seek fora person who has graduated and sometimes offer higher salaries according to the degrees the person possess. This example has shown that people attend colleges to enhance their knowledge in order to receive higher positions and pays. This is therefore proven that attending universities is a precursor to better living standard.

To conclude, the above examples have clearly illustrated that people attend colleges and universities to enter in the job markets and grab opportunities. Although, it is predicted that in the future people will give less importance to universities due to advancements in technical sector.
