Use formal subject and impersonal pronoun in IELTS writing

Find formal points that you want to use to improve IELTS writing band

Use passive voice sentences to make writing more formal. This will help you avoid using many pronouns like “I,we,they…”.
While checking students’ essays , sometimes i find many pronouns like “we, i, they etc”. Their questions is how they can avoid them. It is simply use passive voice in which you do not need to use them. You could use (There/it) as a subject for more formal writing.

For example:

Many youngsters rob banks on regular basis. (active)
Banks are robbed on regular basis. ( passive)
People give suggestions. (active)
It is suggested that (passive)

Adopt impersonal style by using (one).
If you really want to use pronoun be impersonal by using “one” pronoun.

For example :

One should exercise or walk in the morning on daily basis.
One who does not exercise or has social gathering , tends to be in stress.
