Present a written argument or case to an educated reader with no specialist knowledge of the following topic.
* News editors decide what to broadcast on television and what to print in newspapers.
- What factors do you think influence these decisions?
- Do we become used to bad news?
- Would it be better if more good news was reported?

Today, television and newspapers are the major publishing mode of news to people. In these departments, the kind of news to be published entirely lies in the scope of news editors. This decision of what to broadcast is influenced by various factors, among which includes political suppression as well as the profit of the news publishing entity. Because of these factors, it is agreed that we are used to bad news. This will be proven by analyzing these influencing factors in the order it is mentioned above.

Firstly, some political parties suppress the action of the broadcasting bodies. In India, it is seen that certain political people own their television channels and inappropriately influence as what type of news to be published. These people always tend to broadcast only the bad news of their opposite party. Because of this we are very much used to watch mostly the bad news.

Secondly, the broadcasting channels themselves publish only the violent or abusive news for making profit. Certain upcoming news channel such as 'Q' TV focuses to publish news based only on viewers’ interest. Such news channel assumes that only violence and other harassment news interest their audience. For this reason they mostly concentrate on such news to be repeatedly broadcasted. Therefore, it can be seen we are very much used to watch such bad news.

So far we have analyzed the influential factors in the news industry, such as, political suppression and the profit oriented vision of news channels. Thus, it becomes very evident that we are majorly used to watch bad news. It would be better if more good news is broadcasted as it would create a sense of goodness and encouragement towards participating in good activities in our society.
