Regarding ielts test country

Hi,
is that easier to take IELTS in our own country (non-English speaking country) than English speaking countries like US, UK and Australia?
6 years ago, I took academic IELTS in my country, and I got overall 6.5, speaking:7
However, 6 years later, I have been living in English speaking country for 4 years,
my scroes of each bands did not change much, does anyone have the same experience?
