The line graph illustrates the paid rate of money per year for books in four different countries over a period of ten years. It can clearly be seen that, this total rate in Germany was significantly higher than for the other three countries, over this time frame.
To begin, Germany started the period at $80 million. Regardless to a slight fall between 1999 and 2003, this amount kept rising until it reached a peak of approximately $95 million at the end of the period.
Two countries that were close in the start point, were Italy and France. The total purchases of books in both countries in the first two years showed a similar pattern, with a slight increase at about $65 million. With the exception of a slight fall in the following 2 years for Italy, they both increased at a steady rate. Finally, Italy finished the period at about $65 million which is well below of France at the same time.
Australia started the period at just around $30 million, which is the least between other three countries. But after a gradually increasing from 2001 and 2005, this country reached a high and finished the period at just about $74 million which is close to France and higher than Italy.
