Computers and electronic entertainment are so alluring that a child prefers sitting back at home and enjoys his spare time using it. According to some people, children should play more of outdoor game rather than indoor. I agree with the view but computer literacy is also equally important. This essay will analyze both points of view and present my opinion.
Some parents believe that outdoor games are beneficial because of several reasons; they help in developing good communication skills as well overall personality. Meeting friends face to face and sharing ideas and experiences surely help in the development of a child. Apart from this, outdoor games also contribute to maintaining good health of children. For example exerting while playing games like soccer, cricket etc. keeps the child physically fit. While, on the other hand, if they keep on using electronic devices they could weaken their eyesight and develop a wrong posture of sitting.
Although outdoor games are advantageous but some people assume that indoor entertainment source and computers are better. The justification for this is, nowadays parents want their child to be computer competent as it helps them in their future career. It the fact that world today is dominated by computers and electronics so according to them it’s important that children learn and understand computers and technology early in life. Other than these parents want a healthy playing environment for their child. For instance fighting after losing games and learning to abuse will surely not be acceptable by any parent.
To conclude, although both views have their own importance but in my opinion, both indoor as well as outdoors games should be encouraged by the parents. As it will not only make the child computer literate but also develop his personality.
