Essay on : Sports and public health

Some people say that the best way to improve public health is by increasing the number of sports facilities. Others, however, say that this
would have little effect on public health and other measures are required.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.



In today's world where everyone is busy in there round the clock jobs. Moreover, it has become challenging for some to look after their own well being. Thus, for some, sports is a medium of rejuvenation. In contrast, for rest of individuals it is a meager method among several other methods, so they refute to accept it. Both view points will be analyzed in this order.

Firstly, there are quite a few discreet persons who believes in sports as a medium of public health, it revitalizes oneself. To illustrate, recently an article came in Times Of India, where editor stated that China has more than 700 playgrounds, effectively it was related with the average age of Chinese national. It also stated that due to their healthy lifestyle the average age has increased to 2 years in past decade. Thus, It clearly portray's sports do play imperative role in public health.

Secondly, other half of individuals think sports do play important role. However, it is meager reason among other reasons. In India 65% of population consist of youth. Moreover, youth tends to eat unhealthy food, follow unhealthy lifestyle by drinking,smoking. Thus, these factors does play important role which is against public health. Therefor, these group of people thinks that it these activities should be curbed first rather than putting lime light on sports for public health.

Indeed, some activities which are not related with sports should also be curbed down. However, view point of public health related with sports is agreed upon and has valid reasoning. Sports do play important role, it works as a stress buster and gives a boost to ponder upon difficult thoughts.

In contrast, for many individuals believe that there are more appropriate methods, so they refuse to accept it. Both viewpoints will be analyzed.

Firstly, there are quite a few people who believe in sports as a medium of public health. To illustrate, recently an article appeared in Times Of India in which the editor stated that China has more than 700 playgrounds. This was related to the average age of Chinese citizens. The article also stated that due to their healthy lifestyle, the average age has increased 2 years in the past decade. Thus, It clearly suggests that sports do play an imperative role in public health.

However, some individuals think sports don't play an important role. In India, 65% of the population consists of youth. Moreover, youths tend to eat unhealthy food, drink alcohol and smoke. Thus, these factors have a negative impact on public health. Therefore, many people think that these activities should be curbed first rather than putting the lime light on sports for public health.

Indeed, some activities which are not related with sports should be curbed. However, the viewpoint that public health is related to sports has valid reasoning. Sports do play an important role, they work as a stress buster and give a boost to mental health as well.
