task 2.2.1

Post by robin20y »

Some people think that the government should fund music, dance and arts lessons for children. Others think that they should be funded by private businesses or by children’s families. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Educational programs were always been a favorite subject for debaters to debate about. Even in these days, people have mixed opinion on whether the government or someone else should be the responsible for the expenditure of non-academic subjects in schools. This is an issue which necessitates a study from both points of view to form an opinion.

On the one hand, it is the primary objective of any government to provide qualitative education to its public. In that concept, governments have designed the curriculum by combining both academic and non-academic subjects. So, governments have the sole responsibility to take over the financial needs required for all the subjects being taught at schools without classifying as arts or academic subjects. This could be the reason for some people to stand with the side stating it as the responsibility of government.

On the other hand, most governing bodies across the world are going through a tough time by financially in these days. Obviously many economies are having difficult time to contribute enough wealth to survive. Severe financial crisis happened in Greece is an example for this. Therefore, governments can seek some alternate ways to reduce its financial burden by prompting either parents or some private firms for the expenditure of non-academic education for children. This could be the reason for others to argue for an alternative way of funding in education.

To conclude, both sides of this subject have strong points to declare. However, I believe that when government is responsible to educate its citizens, it is the responsibility of the government to provide the financial aid required for that education without making any discrimination in subjects.

On the one hand, it is the primary objective of any government to provide qualitative education to the public. With that in min, governments have designed the curriculum by combining both academic and non-academic subjects. So, governments have the sole responsibility to take over the financial needs required for all the subjects being taught at schools without classifying them as arts or academic subjects. This could be the reason why some people stand with the side stating it is the responsibility of government.

The severe financial crisis in Greece is an example of this. Therefore, governments can seek various ways to reduce its financial burden by prompting either parents or some private firms to cover the cost of non-academic education for children. This could be the reason for others to argue for an alternative way of funding in education.

To conclude, both sides of this subject have strong points. However, I believe that when government is responsible for educating its citizens, it is the responsibility of the government to provide the financial aid required for that education without making any discrimination in subjects.
